Replacement mirror glass Empty
PostSubject: Replacement mirror glass    Replacement mirror glass Icon_minitimeWed Jun 15, 2022 9:17 pm

I see some replacement glass on eBay for about 20-30 bucks per side….. looking at their listings, it says remove the old glass pieces to expose the black backing plate and then glue the new glass in. Mine aren’t broken, just scratched from some idiot PO over the years using an ice scraper or something on them. And they bug me. They are base model, remote driver, manual pass, non powered, no heat mirrors so it seems logical and easy. Sounds like I can pop the glass off , if it breaks, no biggie, just remove the pieces and scrape the remainder off to get to the backing plate. Anyone have experience with such ?

Just don't damage the plastic base. Most of the strength of them is in the mirror itself.

Haven't changed mirror glass on wagon but did so on many different vehicles. The glass is a replaceable part. Use a good adhesive and taking the mirror off the door makes for easier repalcement.
