Wagonfest 2010 Chat Thread

Use this thread for general chat. Which hotel or campground are you staying at? Who will be arriving early or staying late? Anyone want to go to XYZ on Friday? Etc.

Joel, (sherlock9C1) If there is power in the shelters, I have a PA system I could bring if it wuld be useful. BUT would need to pack it up early as my band has a gig in Rochester at 7:00pm. I would need to be gone by 5:00p,

Yes, there is power at the shelter.

As for the "detailing", what are the rules for working at the park? We need power. I can use ONR waterless wash, but we NEED power.

Use what you need without disturbing other park visitors. There's a spigot, too, at the back of the shelter, so you'll have power and water for all your electrocution needs.

Robert, I'm just concerned that you'll be working the whole fest and not get time to hang out. Although this time, we'll be at the park all the way until about 7:30 or so so you will have time.

Your other option for detailing is that you are welcome to use my garage in Syracuse on Thursday or Friday if you want to make arrangements ahead of time. I have shade in the garage.

All righty, so who else is coming? As it stands right now, WagonfestWest is gonna have more wagonheads than we will!

I haven't paid yet, but a friend and I are coming. Just booked a night at the Geneva Microtel.

My dad and I are going to try our hardest to go. I would LOVE to.

Nothing is certain yet, though.

I'd really appreciate the french toast stuff recepie, but please don't give it to Crovo. I've seen what he does to a pan of that stuff, and he's fat enough allready.

I'm in with my boy. Found out there is another event in NJ the same day that I would LOVE to also attend so that's where the wifely unit and princess daughter type will be going (nothing like adding a few hundred miles to LONG trip already).

I'll be paying this week as I get paid on Thursday

lol, sorry I didn't call Monday. We left Raleigh late (9:40 AM) so I was on a mission. Got home at 9:45 PM) with a 30 min stop in SC for lunch. Otherwise it was hammer down.... avg ~67mph with lunch and gas stops over 820 miles.

avgs only 18-19 MPG on the ride home and clicked over 180K around JAX, FL

Im in(with Lesley), gotta get the transmission rebuilt in my new Wagon before then, this car is going to be the death of me....

Is someone doing shirts this year? How about the pictures from last year, will it be available for purchase?

Anybody have contact information from Adam (the photographer)? the 2009 picture should be fantastic considering all the work that went into arranging the cars.

Any detailers going to be at the fest? I have a couple of cars that could use some love, and a LOT of parts available once I get them posted.

I believe Chris (brokecello) and I will both be there. I know I will be there late thurs and will do detailing on Friday. Probably at the Mictotel parking lot. I will bring my Generator, vacuum, tools and a 10X20 ez-up. Not comprehensive by any means, but "good enough" for the fest.

I'll be arriving sometime on Friday, depending on the drive from NJ. Anyone heading up from Northern NJ/NYC area?

Yeah, don't count me in yet Robert....little sister decided to get married on a weekday the week after WagonFest. (and 800 miles away) Not sure if I can get all that time in a row off yet. Not looking good.

New Dash Plaques design should be done before too long though. Almost had a deal on frisbees too. LOL! That fell through.

Not 100% sure, but I have the whole week off prior, so I figure we will leave So FL either Sunday or early Monday and make a few stops on the way.

On the way home, my intentions are to head south with you and DeBeasst if you are leaving Sunday morning as I'm having my wife take a train from NJ to DC to save me ~180 miles and a TON of aggravating driving (NJ thru DC on I-95). Her cousin lives about 1.5 hours from Mikes farm to the east.

But yeah, Me, the Princess, and the Queen will be in attendance. Microtel was booked up 3 weeks ago when I went to make reservations, so we are at the Holiday Inn again. Hey, t least we'll have a pool!

We should be arriving some time on Thursday. probably late afternoon/early evening.

I have a few mods to attend to before the Fest. Hopefully I can get to at least SOME of them!

And FYI, the ECIRS will be in town doing their thing down the 1/4 mile in Rochester on Saturday. Most of their racing is in the evening, so if there's interest, we could head over there and watch or participate after the Fest.

I'm an idiot. I just noticed that the Microtel I booked isnt the one in Seneca. I booked the one in Geneva.... The Seneca one is booked. Crovo, how far away is that Holiday Inn?

Lodging:
There are several hotels in Waterloo and Geneva, as well as campgrounds nearby. The Microtel just east of Waterloo is the preferred hotel spot as we will be hanging out there Saturday night. Microtel contact info: 1966 Route 5 & 20, Seneca Falls, NY - (315) 539-8438

Easiest way is to Google this:

1966 Route 5 & 20, Seneca Falls, NY

It is off by about 50 feet and on the wrong side of the road..... but close enough.

It is about 1/2 way between Waterloo and Seneca Falls. the "fest" is in Geneva.

Seneca Falls is the Microtel most of us invade for WF.

Yeah, thats the one I was trying to book. Without noticing I booked the one in Geneva, but now the one in SF is full.

Geneva is where the fest is. It's not even a 10 min drive from one Microtel to the other. Keep the one in Geneva and drive out to that empty lot between the hotel and the bank.......

The Holiday Inn is pretty much across the street from the correct Microtel.

Last year was, what, BS until 12-1am, then get up at 5, get ready, check out then have breakfast by 7, leave by noon and drive 'till 8?

Hey everyone, if you haven't registered for the festivities yet, heads up:

Just wanted to let you know that I can no longer accept chance auction ticket payments through the website whose name is analogous to "compensation friend" and rhymes with papal. Apparently, doing so violates their aksheptible youse polacy. So, just pay for your regishtrashun and deener, and bring caysh fer da uther goodeez.

Not for sure yet just because of work, but me and the ol'lady will be coming to our first wagonfest, a few friends of mine may tag along as well. I'll hopefully know here in a few weeks, is there reg. cutoff date??

Really wanting to go to this year's 'Fest!

For that to happen, I must accomplish all this in about a month:

--Sell my 99 Suburban
--Use sale proceeds to make my 94 RMW roadworthy (brakes, driver's window) and presentable (driver's exterior door panel)
--Develop enough confidence in the car to drive it half way across the continent. Not a big issue, really, since I bought it at 'Fest 2006.

Anybody form the West coming?? ...like as far west as WI, IL or maybe even MI?? Bewber? I'm looking to possibly hitch a ride, buy a wagon, and drive it back...please hit me up!
